Spilled a full bottle right on the pillow and the foam underneath stayed completely dry, so the waterproof layer really does its job. The slipcover still fits fine over it too.
I was skeptical about needing an extra cover, but the fact that it's completely waterproof gives me real peace of mind when the inevitable spit-up happens. It’s easy to wipe clean and slips right over the foam, so I don’t have to worry about stains soaking into the pillow core.
The waterproof fabric has already saved me twice when the baby spit up right through the outer cover, and the core foam still looks brand new. It fits snugly without bunching, and I love that I can just wipe it down between washes.
